Guitar

Jeff’s musical career began with a trombone bigger than himself in sixth grade. Ultimately. Jeff switched to harmonica because it is easier to play in the car and to carry up flights of stairs. Jeff also enjoys playing guitar. which he picked up at age 19 after listening rapturously to Mississippi John Hurt. There’ll be no blues fame. however. because there’re no good nicknames for a guy born in Oregon. Aside from the middle-school marching band. Jeff’s first band was the Cambridge Harmonica Orchestra. CHO ’nuff! The CHO entertained and puzzled audiences and was great fun. Local musical influences include the Gentlemanly Great Hatrack Gallagher and the Inspirational Mr. Bones. Jeff loves all kinds of music but will always have a soft spot for front-porch/pub styles; country blues. old-time. and fiddle traditions. Jeff’s somewhat new to the area. and the Contra Banditos have helped to make him feel welcome.
